About Franck Raharinosy

New York City resident Franck Raharinosy aspires to become an Olympic table tennis player someday. When not working on his forehand smash, one of his favorite moves, Franck is a champion on the table tennis circuit and owner of a ping-pong/social club, SPiN New York, located in New York’s Flatiron District. Picking up a ping-pong paddle for the first time in 2003, Franck Raharinosy has been winning tournaments ever since. In 2010 Franck was crowned champion of one of New York City’s largest ping-pong events, the L.E.S. Cup. Working with his business partner Jonathan Bricklin, Franck has built a strong following behind their Naked Ping-Pong tournaments (which do not feature actual nudity), a phenomenon that has brought together both elite and amateur players from across the city. Franck and his partners’ SPiN New York events have attracted a diverse clientele ranging from world-ranked table tennis players like Jan-Ove Waldner, Mikael Applegren and Marty Reisman to acclaimed writer Salman Rushdie, director Oliver Stone, rapper 50 cent, actor Owen Wilson, models like Veronica Webb and Helena Christensen, and corporations such as Vanity Fair, Hermes, Cartier, Microsoft, Google, Credit Suisse, and Fred Perry among numerous others. In 2009, Franck Raharinosy and his partners opened one of the first ping-pong clubs/social venues in New York when they launched SPiN New York. The 13,000-square-foot venue combines table tennis with a lounge and restaurant. Franck and his partners offer memberships to SPiN New York, which features Olympic-style courts and hosts a number of members-only tournaments and party events.
